Brandon Affolter For Tillamook School Board Position 2
I was born here in Tillamook. I graduated from Tillamook High school in 1997, as did my father in 1971. My three sons belong to the THS classes of 2023, 2025, and 2027. I have deep roots here in Tillamook, and I am dedicated to serving the youth and families of this community.
I was a Tillamook School District #9 employee from August 2019 until August 2024. As a district employee I was able to see how the decisions made by the school board directors affect the students' lives every day. I have thousands of hours of experience in classrooms with students and with educators and am familiar with many of their needs.
I also spent 7 years as President of Oregon Coast Futbol Club, a local Tillamook County soccer club. As president I expanded and oversaw the operations of OCFC as well as ran the board of directors for the club's non-profit. I coached many soccer teams during this time, getting to know an enormous number of young players and their families. I also spearheaded several projects that involved collaboration between multiple school districts and city governments.
From the time that I was a sophomore in high school, until not too many years ago, I volunteered with the Tillamook Outdoor School program. I spent many weeks at camp as a counselor, staff person, cook, and three years as co-director. Through this experience I worked with countless educators and programs from around the state.
